The courses in the IBT-program offer a unique combination of theoretical and practical training in an international environment and state-of-the-art research.

Intercultural Competence  

The intensive exposure to other cultures during the study course allows our students to develop both an awareness of cultural variety and an intercultural competence, which will prepare them to work in an international environment.

International and Work Experience

An important part of the IBT degree courses is the 20-week internship supervised by professors of the OHM, which can also be done abroad. IBT-students will benefit from our extensive company network which includes world-renown companies such as Deutsche Bank, Siemens, Adidas, Staedtler, Audi and BMW. The international exposure can be increased if students take the opportunity to study abroad for one semester at one of our 50 partner universities.

Excellent Language Skills

During their studies, IBT-students are required to gain proficiency in two foreign languages. Normally, the first of these two languages is English,  except for those who are native English speakers. German native speakers can choose as second language either a language of which they already have a good command (for example French), or a completely new language (for example Spanish or Italian). For all non-Germans the second language will be German.
During the first two semesters, course instruction will be 100% in English and thereafter the language in the technical courses will be German.

Job Prospects

Employment prospects of IBT-graduates are considerably broad, one can either follow an academic career by persuing a master degree in either a technical field or business. Further graduates might start the start directly in fields like product management, field engineer and technical risk assessment for banks and insurance companies.
