The Language Center of the Georg-Simon-Ohm-University Nuremberg was founded in 2006 as a project of university management as part of the university's internationalization process. In 2009 it became the Institute of Language and Intercultural Competence - Language Center and is now part of the Department of General Studies.
The Language Center manages all of the university's foreign language courses and also offers courses to promote internationalization.
Our goal is to equip our students with good foreign language skills and to promote their intercultural competence. Our wide range of foreign language courses and intercultural seminars prepare students for working in multicultural environments. Courses range from beginners' courses to highly advanced level courses, some allowing students to acquire internationally recognized certificates.
Our language courses are fast-paced and intensive and allow participants to internalize language skills within a relatively short time.
The Language Center's highly qualified programs are not only available to students of Georg-Simon-Ohm-University Nuremberg but also to those of other universities and to anyone interested in foreign languages. We provide customized language courses for companies that wish to benefit from our language teaching expertise.
